Forbes Releases List Of Hip-Hop’s Wealthiest Artists 2017, As Drake List In Top 5 (With Pictures)

By Mark on 26 November 2017

Forbes on Wednesday released its list of the richest 2017 hip-hop artists – these five artists have a combined net worth of about 2.57 billion.

5. Drake

The addition of Forbes Five is Aubrey “Drake” Graham at 90 million. The views last year became the first album to exceed 1 billion rounds at Apple Music and contributed to a tiresome tour that took the Toronto county Atlanta to Amsterdam, north of $ 1 million a night along the way. His deals with Apple, Nike and Sprite should keep the money coming.
And at the age of only 30, he is young enough to be the son of his companions.

4. Birdman

There is a long fall between the first three and the rest of the list. Bryan “Birdman” Williams is in fourth place with 110 million. With his brother Ronald “Slim” Williams, with Birdman Cash Money Records, home to three of the biggest stars in the music world: Drake, Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne. All three were supposed to leave the label in recent years, but so far their discretionary transactions have kept them, and the cash money boxes are full.
“As a child, I always felt if I could make $1 million, I could make $100 million,” Birdman once told FORBES. “If I could get $100 million, I’m just nine steps away from being a billionaire. And that’s the goal.”

3. Dre

Dre has not yet reached billionaire status he initially claimed but his deal on the Beats sale gave him the biggest one-year payday ever recorded by a live musician; His fortune grew to 740 million in scholarly investments.

2. Jay-Z

Long ago, Jay Z’s fortune rose 30% last year, after an investment of 200 million on Sprint would put the appreciation of its music service streaming, Tidal, to 600 million, more than 10 times what He paid for the company two years ago.

1. Diddy

retains his privileged place as a richer hip-hop artist who ends up with a billionaire status because of his lucrative business with Ciroc Diageo as well as huge challenges in revolting the television network.

Earlier today, a video surfaced of a ruckus at the venue of Olamide & Phyno‘s “Culture Tour” in Canada where they were supposed to perform but did not show up. The promoter came on stage to announce that Phyno was sick and as such the show will not hold. The audience who had paid for the tickets and were waiting  got angry and resorted to violence, damaging stuff at the venue.
Both artistes have however cleared the air on the issue, stating why they refused to perform. They said that the promoter, one Prince George Entertainment had defaulted on their earlier agreement. The statement which was signed by both YBNL and Penthauze Entertainment read:

we humbly apologize to our fans who bought tickets for the culture tour in canada. olamide and phyno love and adore their fans and did everything within their power to ensure they performed at the event. however the promoter prince george entertainment defaulted on the our agreement . it was announced at the venue during the show that phyno was sick and he couldn’t perform which is a lie . phyno wasn’t sick and was/is in good health. olamide and phyno met up with all obligations to make the event a success and where present in canada ready to perform but the promoter prince george entertainment refused to honor our agreement. our humble apologies once more as we understand a lot of fans sacrificed so much to be at the event.
